How We Did It

This song was written by Jeff Everman, Nate Jackson, Erika Gaines, and Bob Stamper.  The song writing process began on April 9th, 2020 when Jeff and Bob started exchanging emails.  The writing process continued with some Zoom meetings and was finished in a couple of days.

Nate Jackson recorded a demo of just his vocals, a keyboard, and loop track.  Each of the writers then started contacting musicians and singers that they knew and would send them the track, asking if they would record their own vocals or instrument parts and send them in.

The kentuckyasone.com web site was established over the next weekend to allow contributors to register and upload their audio files to the server.  As vocal and instrument tracks started coming in, Bob and Nate started dividing up the workload.  Nate edited and compiled all the vocal tracks, while Bob was editing and mixing the instruments.  Bob combined the final vocal tracks and mastered the final project.

The group then reached out to Eppic Films for assistance in creating the video, and Jason Epperson and his team assisted with the initial video production.  Some final tweaks and edits were made by Bob Stamper, and the release date was set for May 4th, 2020 (Star Wars Day!)
